Description

The family for whom these two exterior backyard murals were created for live in the coastal area of La Jolla, near San Diego. The murals were built specifically for the remodeled backyard pool and patio area. The beautiful ammonite fossils, approximately five inches in diameter with spiral designs, were purchased by the client and given to the artist to incorporate into the overall mosaic. Actual ammonite fossils were incorporate dinto the designs. The imagery for the mosaic designs was borrowed from the ancient petroglyphs found in the caves of Baja California, Mexico. The title of the project comes from the many travels, by the artist and client (though separately), located just south of San Diego to the beautiful peninsula and state of Baja California, Mexico.
