When Kim Emerson launched her career as a serious mosaic artist, wayback when local workshops, online courses, and the worldwide-web had not yet been available or invented.

In the early 1990’s, hitting the ground running, Kim searched for answers and learned hands-on one project at a time, which evolved into a wealth of expertise and experience. In addition, the fact that she has a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation of Architecture, her degree contributed greatly to her asking the right questions. This Mentorship program is an opportunity to tap into the vast knowledge of Kim Emerson’s decades of experience creating her mosaic art projects for public, private, and gallery spaces.

This is a new and rare endeavor to have the access to consult directly with Kim on a deeper level, whether it be in-person or via video call. Kim will generously walk you through the step-by-step planning and execution of your exciting and meaningful mosaic art projects that you wish to create for either public art, your own personal works, or broader consulting to municipalities directly who are seeking information to commission a qualified mosaic artist.

Work One-on-One with Kim

This Mentoring program offers direct access to the repertoire of Kim’s endless pool of her contacts and resources; such as, in the selecting and sourcing of correct and quality materials suitable for any job, how to develop a maquette with a proposal for submittal to a client, or how to install mosaics onto various types of substrates and structural components for a large-scale project.

Each consultation session with Kim is available for a reasonable fee, by the hour, and on a case-by-case basis. This is an exciting Mentoring program if you want to follow the best practices in the field of mosaic art, or if you have questions regarding how to apply for a public art project, how to develop and build your portfolio, or if you need hands-on studio tutoring about technique for your personal works - please reach out to Kim and inquire directly.
