Description

The artist was initially contacted and commissioned by leading Valle Verde resident, Helen Chuan, and along with her Cutting Garden committee members who also reside at this marvelous active retirement community. As a special committee, they together raised the funds necessary for the project, and in full coordination and approval by Valle Verde and the ABHOW Foundation. The artist, Kim Emerson, was totally inspired by the excitement and enthusiasm Helen expressed, and especially when she stated that she envisioned mosaic benches in the garden for the residents to relax and enjoy, and she wanted them to resemble the soft colors in nature found in paintings by French Impressionist, Claude Monet.
