"Ocean Dances" is a sculpture and
water fountain covered with 400 square feet of ceramic tile mosaic.
The project was the art component for the newly remodeled Sun Harbor
Marina located on the water's edge of San Diego Bay. The
waves are sculpted out of Expanded Poly-Styrene (EPS), imbedded
with rebar, and covered with thick cement. Water flows from
the top of the waves down into the basin pool below. The
glass rock is lit at night from behind with fiber optics. The
fish are Albacore Tuna, which are the main catch for the sports
fishing fleet located adjacent to the Marina.
