Bannister Family House - Donor Mural : "Celebration of Life"
UCSD Medical Center, San Diego, CA, 2006

“Celebration of Life”, a mosaic mural 13' x 4', is what greets residents of the Bannister Family house as they walk past the front entrance. This project was a fundraiser for this home-away-from-home for families of out-of-town patients seeking medical treatment at the University of California San Diego Medical Center. Individualized names were engraved into 2” x 5” ceramic tiles that were purchased by supporters of the Bannister Family House. Each named tile was carefully placed into the mural design along with the other images chosen to represent the mission, which is to create a warm and welcoming place for families. Quarry Tile Company of Spokane, WA makes the ceramic tile used for the mosaics.
